Luis Miguel
CEO
Luis Miguel is the CEO at Avantpage, Inc. Luis is responsible for our mission to provide immigrants with the opportunity to reach their american dream. Luis is passionate about helping our clients communicate effectively with immigrants in language they can both understand. With over 20 years of leadership experience in the translation industry, Luis works to the benefit of our clients and the immigrant community. But Luis is other things too! As an Airbnb host, Luis and his cat Gatubela love to host people from other countries in their Davis home!
Vera Hooijdonk
Director of Business Development
Vera helps Avantpage deliver smooth and efficient services that meet our client’s needs. As Avantpage’s previous Director of Operations, Vera is uniquely positioned to help the business development team see growth, retention, and dedicated account management. She believes each day is a new opportunity to improve and is passionate about finding practical solutions for both our clients and internal teams. With 10 years of experience in the translation industry, Vera knows that language matters and hopes that through her work she’s able to transmit her enthusiasm and passion for languages to others. But Vera is an adventurer too! She loves to travel and is proud of each new stamp in her passport. And when closer to home, she enjoys biking or reading a book in the sun.
Jorge Villafuerte
Director of Technology
Jorge focuses on optimizing the way for Avantpage to become a data-driven organization. He’s enthusiastic about how technology helps us build bridges connecting people and cultures. With over 7 years of experience in information technologies, robotics, and electronic security, Jorge supports Avantpage with cutting-edge technologies and ensures security for our clients. He loves challenges not only at work and is passionate about exploring new cultures while traveling.
Nicole Spyt-James
Director of People Operations
Nicole is the Director of People Operations at Avantpage, Inc. Nicole’s main focus is to support our team through HR, admin, and accounting, so they can focus on what they do best. She is a huge advocate for the people and a believer that energized, engaged, and happy employees are the key to company success. With over five years of experience in Admin and Human Resources, Nicole is still shocked that she gets paid to empower and support people! But that’s not all! In her spare time you can find her gardening, designing clothes, obsessing over her cat Charlie (the cutest cat in the world!), or learning something new!
Dominika Villafuerte-Woszczyk
Director of Operations and Quality
Dominika is Avantpage’s Director of Operations and Quality and has been in the translation industry since 2014. She oversees these teams to ensure quality and linguistic excellence in all areas of our translation and language services. Dominika brings her passion for languages and people to her work every day. She has ample experience in both vendor and client-facing relations, including project and resource management. Under Dominika’s close supervision, Avantpage was able to achieve certifications ISO 9001 (Quality Management) and ISO 17100 (Translation Services). Outside of Avantpage, Domi is self-described as “definitely a foody.” You can find her using her creativity in the kitchen, or evaluating a restaurant’s menu. Travel is a must, and has even travelled with her family including kids at very young ages.
